Kathy McClenahan

Kathy McClenahan, MA, is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who comes to Pinnacle with a passion to help others walk through their life in more freedom. Life can bring us pain and struggle, and because of her own journey, Kathy desires to come alongside others offering hope and strength. Kathy’s experience has been with those who struggle in the areas of relationships, self-doubt and low self-esteem, abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual), anxiety and depression.

Kathy is a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, which enables her to use the work on vulnerability, shame and wholehearted living by Dr. Brené Brown, author of Daring Greatly.  Kathy has led groups and uses some of these principles in her counseling.

One unique area that Kathy understands is one of transition and the hurt that can come with working in Christian ministry. Kathy was formerly on staff with a Christian organization, for 28 years, and has lived 18 of those years in Africa and France.

Kathy received her Masters of Arts in Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary-Orlando. Her undergrad degree was from University of Alabama in Birmingham with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Kathy is married to her husband Bruce, for 28 years, and has three adult children. She and Bruce work hard at their marriage and love time with their children. Outside of counseling, Kathy enjoys running, biking, gardening, and meeting friends for coffee. She loves to travel and the adventure that can bring!
