Casey has a strong passion to walk alongside individuals that are experiencing pain or shame in their lives. She has seen the benefits of counseling from a client’s perspective and feels honored to be invited on the healing journey of others as the counselor.
Casey received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. She has been married to her best friend, Phil Coleman, for 3.5 years and has just welcomed the newest addition to their family, Nora Rey.
Casey loves watching movies, playing music and dancing to whatever song is on. Her favorite foods are tacos and dark chocolate but it really depends on what mood she is in. Casey prides herself on being eclectic, which means she loves deep conversations but also craves silly singing around the house with her baby girl.
Casey believes every person is designed beautiful, yet complex. This means individuals may need help navigating themselves and their surroundings. Casey also believes the goal of counseling is to heal parts of individuals that are potentially harmful, liberate parts that were cast away or feel ashamed and celebrate a healthy internal system. This will lead to a life filled with peace and understanding. The harmony of an internal system will increase quality of life and decrease shame, unhealthy coping, and discomfort.
Casey has grappled with existential questions, explored her identity and embraced her story through her own counseling process. She feels empowered by vulnerability and hopes to help others feel this way too.
