My goal is to facilitate your growth by providing a safe space for you to wrestle with life’s challenges and difficulties.
I am passionate about walking with you as you grapple with your identity, shame, weaknesses, strengths, beauty, and relationships. I want to help you name and grow in consciousness of your dignity, fears, desires, and ways you relate- both wonderful and unhelpful.
I believe we are healthiest when we hold the wonder and frailty of ourselves in tension as we learn to risk well, grieve well, protest well, and delight well. I strive to meet you where you are with kindness and to hear and see you.
I have come to my understanding of mental health as I wrestled with my faith in God, chronic illness, anxiety, and depression. I have walked through dark seasons of disorientation, shame, doubt, and illness, as well as lighter seasons of grace and blessings.
I worked in various settings as a line cook in a country club, wedding photographer, motorcycle salvage yard technician, and painter/pressure washer before discovering my passion for mental health as a floor staff in a department of juvenile justice treatment program. This journey has taught me there is always hope, even in the darkest valley, and that God’s love will not let go of me.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, relationship difficulties, addiction, self-esteem, shame, and wrestling with faith/beliefs.
When not counseling or doing counseling-related things, I enjoy filling the house with music, rocking my baby boy, going on food adventures and hikes with my wife, hunting for a delicious beer with friends, deep conversations, reading about all the things, and skateboarding.
