Ashley Kinchen

It takes courage to face life’s challenges and ask for support. Whether you're carrying the weight of grief, trauma, anxiety, relational pain, or feeling stuck, I believe you deserve a space where your story is honored and your healing is supported with care and skill.

As a person-centered therapist, I create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen and heard. I work with individuals and couples navigating attachment wounds, shame, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I also offer faith-integrated counseling for clients who value spiritual exploration as part of their healing.

As a Gottman-trained therapist, I support couples in rebuilding trust, deepening emotional connection, and improving communication. Whether you’re preparing for marriage, blending families, or navigating conflict, I aim to help couples strengthen their relationships through practical, research-based tools.

I am particularly passionate about helping clients understand how pain is stored in the body and how trauma shapes thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Through EMDR, I guide clients in safely processing painful memories so they can move toward lasting clarity, freedom, and connection.

My work is also informed by my personal experience as a former licensed foster parent and my current role as a biological, adoptive, and stepmother. This journey has deepened my understanding of the complexities of blended families, caregiving, and attachment, allowing me to support clients navigating similar relational dynamics with insight and empathy.

I also support older adults and their families as they navigate dementia and cognitive decline. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), PAC-trained provider, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), I bring both clinical knowledge and hands-on understanding to this deeply personal work.

When I’m not counseling, I enjoy nature, quiet moments, and meaningful conversation. I believe healing begins in small, intentional steps, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
